DIYR 2020 cancelled

Do you know that feeling? The feeling you have during the night before an important day? You are in your bed, cannot sleep and all kind of thoughts are running through your head. When can we start rowing again? Are there going to be races? When will everything go back to normal?

In the past period all rowers, coaches, parents and race-organizers had these thoughts and dreams. However, the Dutch government provided clarity. No races are allowed before September 1st 2020.

DIYR 2020 cancelled

The DIYR can therefore not be held on July 4th and 5th 2020.

The DIYR organisation has chosen not to postpone the race to later this year. This because we think the DIYR will not be possible within the current rules where 1.5 m distance between people is obliged.

DIYR July 2021

However, we are ready and enthusiastic to organise an even better version of the DIYR in 2021. The DIYR 2021 will take place on the Bosbaan in Amsterdam on July 3 and 4th. All international junior rowers looking for some stiff competition are wellcome to join us for this great event.

In the Netherlands junior rowers have started rowing in single skulls again in the last week of April. It is great to be back on the water. This is a good start to start dreaming of races again. Let’s hope that next year on July 6th many junior rowers are dreaming about the race of their life.
